Abstract

OBJECTIVE: visualize the future of the language worldwide after the advancement of technology and globalization. METHOD: the existing bibliography was reviewed and the topics related to education and the use of languages ​​were analyzed, as well as the documents that contained propositions about the unification of a single language. RESULTS: education and health systems have grown significantly on various virtual platforms after the COVID-19 pandemic. English is the most widely spoken language by natives and non-natives around the world; contains more information on the internet than any other language; has more online courses than any other language. Mandarin is the first language that has the most native speakers and the second that has the most content on the internet. CONCLUSION: the advancement of technology in the educational environment promotes universal education, it encourages the use of a single language worldwide, demanding that it be practical and adhere to standards; due to its cultural influence, practicality, ease of learning, greater documentation on the Internet, greater number of speakers and plasticity to create new words, English would be the preferred language for the unification of a single language.

María Cristina de los Ángeles Dávila Bran, Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala

He was born in Guatemala and completed a specialization in internal medicine at the University of Miami. She graduated as a doctor and surgeon from the University of San Carlos de Guatemala. He is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in letters at the University of San Carlos de Guatemala.
